Project Overview

Full Tear-Off & Owens Corning Shingle Install — 1/12 Pitch, Bradenton

A 1/12 pitch roof is as close to flat as a shingle system gets — and it takes a different level of
attention than a standard pitched install. On a low-slope roof, water doesn’t have gravity doing
the heavy lifting. Everything — underlayment selection, shingle overlap, flashing technique —
has to be executed precisely because the margin for error is smaller. This Bradenton homeowner
had a 2,339 square foot system that needed to come off and go back on right.
We completed the full tear-off, assessed the deck, and built the new Owens Corning system to
low-slope spec. That means a more aggressive underlayment approach, tight shingle laps, and
careful attention to every penetration and edge condition. Done correctly, a low-slope shingle
system performs — done carelessly, it’s the first call you get after a heavy rain.
The Bradenton project was completed in a single day. 2,339 square feet of low-slope roofing, torn
off and replaced in one clean push.
